There Will Be Justice

This work was commissioned by the District 4 PMEA District Band, and was premiered in February of 2020. In 2020 America faces an opioid crisis. Given free reign to create this work, the composer was Inspired by what the he and his wife witnessed while serving people in need in Kensington, PA  – the worlds largest open drug market. The composer takes a passionate look at those suffering from addiction, homelessness, and mental illness. Written with a sense of frustration that little seems to be done to help these people who many feel are on the fringe of society, the composer hopes to inspire others to action.  The hopeful ending reveals the beauty in the lives of those he found on the streets to just like each of us.
