Juliah’s Jam

Description

Every summer where the composer teaches, he directs a percussion camp for students age 12-18.  During that event, the composer writes pieces specifically for the ability level of the students attending the camp.  The Steel Pan bands are a favorite part of these camps, with many young students never having played on steel pans before.  In just a week’s time, with an hour a day, the camps always are successful in learning two steel plan pieces.  Juliah’s Jam is one of these great teaching pieces. Juliah is not a person- its a nod to the month of July when the camp usually takes place.   Another terrific beginning to intermediate steel pan work by percussionist and composer, Adam F. Brennan.
